Essential Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Computer Science (CS), or a closely related field, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PG Cert HE) or equivalent. Additionally, candidates should have:
- Several years of experience in teaching or research at a university level.
- A strong track record in publishing high-quality research papers.
- Proven success in securing research grants and funding.
- PhD student supervision experience.
- Fluency in English for an effective teaching experience.
Candidates applying for senior faculty positions should additionally demonstrate:
- A significant number of high-quality publications.
- Several successful external research grant awards.
- Comprehensive PhD supervision experience.
Preferred Qualifications
To strengthen your application, membership in professional organizations like the British Computer Society (BCS), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), or the Higher Education Academy (HEA) is advantageous. Knowledge of international higher education standards is also highly valued.
