The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, invites applications for the Assistant Professor of International History and Politics position with a specialization in Modern Environmental History and Politics. This is a full-time, tenure-track role starting on 1st September 2025 or a mutually agreed-upon date. The position will allow the successful candidate to contribute to the growth of the Department of International History and Politics (IHP), conducting high-level research, teaching, and supervising postgraduate students.

  • Conduct original research and publish findings in leading academic journals.
  • Teach postgraduate courses in International History and Politics.
  • Supervise master’s and PhD students in their dissertations.
  • Contribute to the interdisciplinary Master in International and Development Studies (MINT).
  • Participate in departmental activities and contribute to the development of the Institute’s research and teaching initiatives.
