What You Need to Know About the Studentships
The PHD studentships UK 2024 are fully funded for three years and cover full tuition fees for both UK and international students. In addition to tuition, students receive a standard living allowance, currently set at £19,237 per annum, which is typically increased annually.
Successful applicants will spend a minimum of 36 hours a week on their research projects, primarily based at the Merchiston Campus. Projects are set to commence on 1st October 2025.
Who Are We Looking For?
Candidates must have, or expect to achieve, a first-class honours degree or a distinction at the master’s level. Relevant research or industry experience will be advantageous. Additionally, if English is not your first language, you’ll need to meet the university’s English language requirements.
Application Process
If you’re interested in applying for one of the PHD studentships UK 2024, prospective candidates are encouraged to connect with potential supervisors to discuss project ideas. The application must include:
- A two-page research project outline detailing the background, objectives, methodology, and a list of references.
- A statement of motivation no longer than one page.
- A complete CV, including English language qualifications.
- Two academic references.
