Job Description
Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), the country’s largest energy corporation, is seeking applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will be responsible for driving commercial success, ensuring operational excellence across the supply chain, and overseeing PSO’s subsidiaries and strategic investments to achieve organizational goals.
This leadership role demands strategic vision, results-oriented decision-making, and sustainable value creation. The CEO will guide PSO through national and international energy landscapes, lead diversification and growth initiatives, and address financial challenges in Pakistan’s energy sector. The position requires close coordination with the federal government, Board of Management, senior executives, and key stakeholders.

Strategic leadership and execution
Organizational transformation and future readiness
Oversight of strategic investments
International partnerships and growth
Operational excellence and governance
Stakeholder relations and representation
Job Requirements
Pakistani national aged 45–62 years
Minimum 16 years of education from an HEC-recognized university in one or more of the following: Engineering, Marketing, Commerce, Economics, Energy, Management, Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or professional accounting qualification
Postgraduate degree preferred; foreign qualifications considered an advantage
Minimum 20 years of progressive professional experience in a large national or multinational organization
At least 10 years in one or more of the following:
Governance, business administration, finance, commerce, marketing in a recognized commercial organization
CEO or senior management role (MD/CEO level minus one)
Member of governing body or head of department in a professional organization
Demonstrated track record of generating at least PKR 1 billion annual profit
Experience in oil, energy, or related industries with nationwide distribution networks is preferred
