Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Creating Data Capture Pipelines: Developing systems to link routine data sources across the UK.
- Handling Complex Data: Working with extensive and confidential electronic health data, including high-dimensional data from clinical systems.
- Analytical Expertise: Providing insights to the TRAITS team, identifying gaps in information, and resolving challenges with real-world datasets.
- Data Management: Processing, maintaining, and documenting datasets, analytic approaches, and algorithms.
Required Skills and Attributes
To succeed in this position, candidates should possess:
- A degree (or higher) in a scientific or numerate subject, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in writing complex database queries (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) using statistical software.
- Strong data extraction and transformation skills for analysis with various statistical packages.
- Excellent teamwork abilities, along with strong written and oral communication skills.
- An understanding of health records and health informatics, including knowledge of health record coding systems and data confidentiality principles.
